International law

In most advanced economies, competition laws regulate the activities of businesses. They prohibit practices that may inhibit competition, such as cartels, monopolistic business practices, and concerted practices. In addition, they ensure that consumers have access to high-quality items at reasonable rates.
Consumer law
Essentially, consumer law protects consumers from unfair and deceptive business practices. These laws are enforced by both federal agencies and state regulatory agencies. Consumers can file a complaint and seek financial compensation.
Some of the federal laws that are aimed at consumers are the Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. These laws require lenders to clearly disclose the total cost of a loan when the borrower signs up for a loan.
Socratic Method
During law school, professors use the Socratic Method. The method focuses on asking questions to stimulate critical thinking. It teaches future lawyers to be articulate and critical thinkers. However, this method is not perfect.
It can be intimidating for students. The Socratic Method often looks like an interrogation. But in reality, it is a method of discussion that breaks down student fears of public speaking. Students listen to criticism of their opinions, and then respond with counterarguments.
