Entertaiment is the process of amusing and entertaining people. Entertainment can be for just one person, such as a movie or a concert, to banquets adapted for two, to many persons at once as in a party, religious festival or satire. The experience of being entertained has become strongly associated with leisure, so that one common understanding of the idea is fun and laughter, although many entertainments have a serious purpose, as in various styles of ceremony, party, non secular pageant or satire.
It is interesting that entertainment often hits the points that the brain was evolved to react deeply to. This is true for themes such as backstabbing, murders and other social themes.
