Press Release

We are currently scheduling personal classroom visits from our students in order to discuss the process and present clips from their collective productions

WDHS Student Video has been working on three independent cinematic productions to be presented to the community and to festival audiences. STEALING GRADUATION, INTERNAL AFFAIRS & TRUE STORY will premier on April 14th & 15th at the Michael A. Guido Theater in the Performing Arts Center on Michigan Avenue. The productions were written, cast, shot, lit, blocked, edited & will be presented by advanced video students. This will be our most adventuresome presentation in terms of technological upgrades. One production will be presented in true high definition via a BLUE RAY DISK.  Live action sequences will feature the use of a 35mm cinematic lens adaptor, film crane, steady-cam, camera car mounts, student built dolly work/tracking and other unprecedented advances in mobility and picture quality. Students have consulted graduate school texts on screenwriting and formatting in order to present complete stories with proper structure and story beats. The Dearborn Schools, The Screen Actors Guild, Chuck Baughman, Dearborn Mayor Jack O'Reilly and Mike Mosallam, Director of Film Initiatives have all contributed greatly to the process.

In short, these productions were begun in August and have had the collective involvement of 23 committed students who have spent hundreds of hours in order to present this work to the community.
